Happy belated birthday! I've been thinking about you, and glad to hear that you didn't need surgery after all. It's snowy here and I've been eating homemade chili for the past two days. Leanne and I are meeting on Wednesday for Mexican food. I prefer Mexican food and sushi in the summer, but a nice hot plate of beans and rice sounds good anytime. I have bronchitis and am taking medication, so I won't write much. Just resting this week. Take care.

The natural history photos are amazing. The architecture is fascinating. Being stranded is a drag though. France is probably easier in the springtime, and maybe you will be able to return then. Stay in touch.

Happy 2009! Wanted to post this before you go to France. New Year's here was quiet. I had some appetizers and watched the New Year's eve celebrations on T.V. - Elton John live from London, just before I turned in for the night. Enjoyed reading your movie reviews, and wanted to add my own to the list.

Mamma Mia

My favorite pick of 2008. Why? The choreography was great, and the plot lighthearted. What a perfect film location for a tried and true cast. If you can't go to Broadway, this is the next best thing. Some of these film versions are preferable to the original play. The cinematography was impressive, lots of local color, and the fast-paced storyline kept my attention. A captivating performance by all.

Don't get too sentimental about the holiday decor. I've heard that London is delightful at Christmas time. I did see a pretty impressive nativity scene while driving yesterday. It became even more special as I drove through the freezing rain to do errands. I did make it back home unscathed, and counted my blessings as I watched news casts of the evening commute. I'm enjoying my snowman candy dish, fake poinsetta, and star candle. Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas!

Thanks for this fascinating post on going to the doctor. I was just sitting here reading it to ben. I'm planning on putting up some of the Christmas photos from last year sometime this week. Be sure to check facebook. Wish you could be here again this year. We went skiing at pope (the logging area where we walked the dogs with you last year) yesterday (see facebook for photo). It looks like Utah here. It's over a foot of snow. We'll go to hurricane ridge tomorrow. Well, off to make cookies! Chocolate coconut curry.
